The Ralph Fridley Scrapbook

Ralph Fridley, the adult son of TNT area property owners, Currier and Inez Fridley of Hamburg,

kept a scrapbook of newspaper articles beginning in the fall of 1940 and continuing through most of 1941.  These articles provide a journalistic chronicle of the TNT story during its first year. 

The scrapbook is arranged mostly in chronological order, but several articles are often attached to a single page.  This website has attempted to be faithful to Fridley's original layout.  Sometimes Fridley annotated articles with dates and, on a few occasions, he added typewritten comments.  Those annotations and comments are included here.

Unfortunately some articles are missing portions, some are not dated, and some do not have a clearly identified source newspaper.  Such omissions are clearly noted here.
